The house in brief
Fendi was established by Adele and Edoardo Fendi in Rome in 1925, beginning as a handbag shop and fur workshop; LVMH acquired the house in 2000 and became its majority shareholder in 2001. Its collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld ran 54 years from 1965, with Silvia Venturini Fendi joining the artistic direction in 1992, and the house is headquartered at the Palazzo della Civilta Italiana in Rome.
